Ingersoll
has just completed a series of qualification and endurance tests with
the new vertical Fiber Placement Machine Mongoose V1.
During the 10
hours test the newly designed Fiber Delivery System (Head &
Creel
Module) has exceeded any optimistic expectation, depositing 600 lbs of
carbon fiber without any roping or twisting of material.
More remarkably: of the 150,000 adds and cuts required during the test,
there was not a single failure
This is the first Generation 3 machine, featuring:
- Lay-up speed: from 50 to 60 m/min (2000 to 2400 IPM)
- Cut speed: 50 m/min (2000 IPM)
- Add speed: 50 m/min (2000 IPM)
The machine features automatic head & creel module automatic
