On June
1st, we broke ground for a new building to house the CyberMill(TM)
VXL.
Since then the construction has progressed rapidly. 200 trucks poured
2000 cubic yards of cement for the main foundation. Soon after, steel
girders were put up for the building's frame. See the photos for a
look at the progress.
The CyberMill(TM) wiil be the largest machine ever built by Ingersoll.
It is a High Speed Milling Machine with a working envelope of 1440"
x 320" x 100".
Equipped with a 5 axis head, the machine will produce lay-up tools
for composite wings for the new generation of wide body airplanes.
The new building will have a span of 70' with 50' under the cranes. |
