EDM Machines Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) is the process of removing metal from a workpiece using electricity. By using high frequency current that vaporizes workpiece material, extremely accurate shapes and surface finishes may be achieved. An electrode, usually made of graphite or copper, is positioned very precisely near the workpiece and is guided by a CNC control. The Ingersoll sinker product line achieves high levels of productivity by using very advanced electronic equipment from Mitsubishi Electric Co. The rugged Ingersoll machines combine German mechanical precision with Mitsubishi's advanced software and electronics. The Ingersoll Gantry design combines the highest levels of automation with ease of operation. Applications range from small medical devices to the largest bumper molds. Other applications include diverse workpieces from forging dies to aircraft engines. Additional information can be viewed at www.mitsubishi-world.com. |
