	Ingersoll has a full range of machines and systems for automated, single set-up machining of diesel engine components

Machining a V-type diesel engine block is accomplished in 18 hours vs. 34 hours previously. A fixed-rail MASTERCENTER™, with specialized spindle units including fixed angle heads for cylinder bores, is used.

Ingersoll is helping meet world demand for dramatic improvements in manufacturing flexibility, productivity and quality with a new generation of Vertical and Horizontal MASTERCENTER™ machines. They can operate as stand-alone machining centers, as unmanned multiple-machine cells, or as stations in integrated manufacturing systems. Any degree of work handling automation can be provided.

Grinding machines for heavy crankshafts

Ingersoll CM Systems Inc. manufactures special machinery and systems for crankshaft and camshaft manufacturing, including: monotonic broaching systems for cylindrical surfaces, crankshaft fillet deep rolling machines, crankshaft milling and geometric centering equipment.

Other machines and systems include induction hardening, notch milling, keyway machining, finishing, finishing of thrust faces, pilot and gear fit diameters, special drilling, and the specialized transfer and gantry systems required for fully automatic systems operation.
