Four gantry-type 95 kW machines and a rail-guided shuttle car system produce large excavator parts.

Machining a family of loader housings is accomplished on a system of four horizontal machines with flexible CNC fixturing.  This system replaced a five year old, four machine FMS.  The previous system was capable of only five parts per shift--the new Ingersoll system produces nine parts per shift with two operators and over 95% system uptime.
